From the trailer the audience learn that the film will be set mainly in the house which is an interior setting, the location of the film is in America and set in the present day. The theme of this film is horror and demonic with supernatural events in it. The main icon in this movie is the mirror which is what appears to be causing all of the demonic events. The audience's understanding of the plot of the film is that there is this haunted mirror which has terrorized this certain family and they are trying to beat it and prove that they are not crazy when saying that this mirror is the cause of the bad things that have happened in their life. The two main characters are the brother and sister; low-key lighting is used to demonstrate the darkness of the film and the creepy sound effects increases the anticipation levels of the audience.

The Guest

This film is set in America in the present day and seems to focus mainly around this one family in there home and local town meaning there are interior and exterior scenes. The theme of this film is a thriller as it involves action, romance and maybe comedy but overall the film is very fast paced. An icon in this movie is the guns the main character is repeatedly seen with as it shows a violent side to him rather than the polite gentleman that turned up on the doorstep. The plot of this film is based around a soldier who is staying with his friends family in which he is doing him a favor by watching over them, as the film progresses it seems that there is a lot of drama starting to happen once this 'guest' has arrived implying that he is the cause of the family's trouble. The main character in this is the guest who is shown in many ways for example as a kind gentleman looking out for his friend's family but then a dark side of him who uses guns and gets into fights. Low-key lighting is mostly used in this trailer however there are a couple of scenes that seem to have brighter lighting which could suggest that the film overall could be quite dark and mysterious but have some lighter happy moments along the way.

The Vow

This film is set in America in the present day and is set in many different settings that are interior and exterior, the theme of this film is romance. The key icon in this film is the truck that crashed into the character's car as it is the main cause for the film to take a different turn and change the character's lives forever, whatever happens in there life will always be down to that truck that changed everything for them. The plot is a happily in love married couple have an accident involving a truck which causes the wife to lose her memory, the film progresses as the husband has to make his wife fall in love with him again so that there might be a chance that their lives could go back to how it was before the accident. The main characters are the couple; high-key lighting is used to set a positive atmosphere as even though a dreadful thing has happened to this couple their is still hope that they will have a positive outcome in the end.

First Guardians of the Galaxy

This film does not seen to be set on earth and possibly in the future which explores interior and exterior settings; the theme of this film is action and adventure. There are no icons in this trailer as it is quite chaotic and jumbled up, although on of the characters does seem to be wearing a peculiar device on his arm. The plot of the film is not too clear however the audience does get the feel that this movie will be non-stop and packed with lots of action. There are several different characters in this film otherwise known as the 'guardians' who appear to have different individual strengths. The music played throughout this trailer was very fast paced which suggests that is exactly what the film will be like, low-key and high-key lighting were both used in this trailer to explore the different sides of the film for example that there will be dark and evil things happening but there is also going to be fun adventures happening.
